History

The Philippine Rugby League (PRL) was established in 2011 with a view of expanding rugby league further into Asia. The PRL oversees the running of the national team, in 2011 it was announced that the Philippines would be playing their first game of rugby league at the 2012 International 9's at Cabramatta, while also being involved in other organized international rugby league tournaments in the Asia-Pacific region. The inaugural meeting of the board will take place on November 20th at San Antonio Pasig Manila. The board will then take control of all administration and forming the Philippine Rugby League Association, therefore will be responsible for the running of Rugby League in the Philippines and any team playing under the auspice of the PRL.
